Poem- Conversation

Here’s another poem I wrote. With this one I experimented a bit with sounds and different kinds of words. I paid a lot more attention to my specific word choices rather than utilizing my regular technique of typing whatever comes into my head. I hope you all enjoy it.

Conversation

The cry comes- low, guttural

Dark words born on gusts of grey storm

Grim determination in harsh barks

Hard as steel

A response sails slowly back

Lilting, whispering, dancing in the breeze

Harmonious melody in soft song

Twirling like flower petals in spring

Dark meets light

Gust meets breeze

Bark meets song

Steel slides through flower petals

It cannot land a blow

Loud trumpets blare against the gentle song of flutes

Growl and melody become one

Night and luminescence swirling in a beautiful hurricane
