I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I think it’s kickass, fun, smart, and full of heart. To me, this is what young adult fiction, as well as supernatural fiction, should be. With apologies to fellow Living Author Philip, I’m not the biggest fan of modern vampires. I think vampires are at their best when they’re mean, vicious, act-first-ask-questions-later type monsters, and I’ve always preferred my heroes to stake, rather than fall in love with, the vampire.

That’s one of the reasons why I wrote Revenant. It’s a novella that brings some bite back to vampires (I’m so sorry for that pun) and particularly their human counterparts. Set in the drizzly city of Portland, Oregon, and the surrounding woodlands, Revenant is a fight for survival and a look at a girl becoming comfortable in her own skin. It’s fast, action-oriented, snarky, and I’m frankly rather proud of it.

Revenant will be available on Amazon.com shortly.
