“Wait for the night.”
That was what the shuttle operator said when he dropped me off on the planet surface amidst the dark, quiet buildings. The suns were high in the sky and I felt like I was being boiled alive.
My first hours on Tericion weren’t exactly what I’d been hoping for. The buildings were pretty enough, but they were so dull, not a hint of color amidst the dark silver.
I went up to my room and fell asleep, exhausted after my journey. It must have been hours later when I woke because the sun had almost gone from the sky, only a faint rim of red-orange remaining on the horizon.
I looked out the window and was blown away. Colors shone everywhere, so bright they almost blinded me. Soft music filled the air, whispering to me.
“Wait for the night.”
He was right after all.
Cool story! Almost reminded me of Phoenix, Arizona. LOL! Boiling hot days and beautiful color-filled nights! Great story! I liked how the nights bring on such beauty.

Thank you! I’ve been to Arizona, but not to Phoenix. I think that being almost ‘nocturnal’ is a natural reaction to being in a place that hot.

I couldn’t decide on Sci-fi or not as it isn’t my interest. So I went another way, but I like this one.

Thank you! I often have difficulty working genre out what to do for the prompt, but once I decide on one it usually works for me. Something about this picture looked really sci-fi to me, so I decided to go with that.

I think I’d like to visit that planet – at night, anyway! I love the sci-fi angle. Great story. 🙂
