To the Dark Tower Came…

The burning tower stands tall and lonely above the windswept flatness of the desolation.

They built it well, those ancient craftsmen, with their wisdom and their art: built it tall and built it strong.

They are gone now, and we shall never know their names, for this alone of them remains: that lonely tower with its burning light, their new Babylon that pierced Heaven and called down the wrath of God.

This is for Three Line Tales Week 260. Thanks to Sonya for running the challenge and Jonny Caspari for providing the prompt photo!
